Soho House case study

Soho House elevates member experience with VTAP and NFC wallet passes

Soho House operates over 50 premium locations around the world, offering its members access to highly refined and welcoming environments where they can work, connect and socialise. Born out of a private members’ club for the creative industry in Soho, the brand is now augmented by The Ned in London, New York and Doha, and by the Scorpios beach clubs in Mykonos and Bodrum.

Upgrading their legacy RFID membership card system to NFC was an obvious step for the Soho House technology team, who are always looking for ways to improve their member experience. Digital membership ID cards are now held in Apple Wallet and Google Wallet, so members simply tap their phone on a VTAP NFC reader at the front desk to check in. The team then developed middleware that connects directly to their Salesforce CRM platform, for seamless look-up of membership data. Offering a swift and secure user experience, Dot Origin’s VTAP readers have since been deployed in Soho House bars and restaurants to enable secure account holder identification at the table.

“Moving to mobile wallet membership IDs was made much easier by using VTAP NFC readers, and the support Dot Origin provided to help us integrate with our check-in, Salesforce and Simphony PoS systems made the deployment seamless and straightforward”
