Members commonly need to provide their membership ID at various points during a visit, from check-in at a front desk, workspace or spa reception to authorising a charge to their account for the restaurant bill. Clunky membership cards and QR codes make the process a hassle for members and take up staff time that’s better spent providing customers with more positive experiences. People increasingly expect to do everything with just their phone and always have them close to hand. Our VTAP NFC Wallet readers automatically select the correct club membership pass when a phone or Apple Watch is tapped, allowing members to breeze through. No need to open an app or search for a QR code to be scanned, and no searching for misplaced physical cards.

Digital membership passes can be issued quickly and easily via SMS, email or an app, and can be linked to club membership, CRM and POS systems. NFC Wallet membership passes leverage the security architectures of Apple Wallet and Google Wallet, and unlike QR codes, NFC passes can’t be copied through simple screen-grabs or photos. NFC-enabled passes can also be used to support pre-paid stored value transactions, as well as linking to open customer accounts, enabling a smooth cash and hassle-free environment. After reviewing their customer flow, Soho House decided to replace their plastic RFID membership cards with a digital member ID solution based around NFC Wallet and VTAP ‘just tap’ technology.
